Paula Granados is the Head of the EMKP. She leads the programme’s strategic direction, overseeing its implementation, including the scholarly vision, the stewardship and long-term preservation of the programme’s ‘living’ digital collection and the promotion and advocacy for the work of EMKP and the Museum. Her work brings together expertise in cultural heritage, museums, and digital technologies to support collaborative and sustainable approaches to documenting and preserving knowledge.
Paula’s research explores the intersections of collective cultural memory, identity, critical heritage studies, and digital technologies, with a particular focus on Indigenous epistemologies, digital preservation, and knowledge modelling through Linked Open Data. She has extensive experience in cultural heritage preservation, collaborative digital curation, museum knowledge creation, and the ethical application of digital technologies, including issues of accessibility, environmental sustainability, and intellectual property.
Paula has published widely on the digital documentation of intangible heritage and holds advisory and governance roles with several international initiatives, including Collections Trust, the UKRI-funded Imagining Futures Project, the InDIGenius programme, and the Linked Pasts Symposium.
